General Questions

What ages do you treat?
Everyone is welcome! We see kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens. We also provide general dental care for adults so the whole family can be seen in one place.
What services do you offer for adults?
We provide cleanings, exams, digital x-rays, fillings, crowns, orthodontics, and more. We take a gentle, prevention-focused approach and work with you to keep your smile healthy and strong.
Do you accept Denti-Cal?
Yes! We proudly accept Medi-Cal/Denti-Cal. Our front desk team is happy to walk you through your benefits and coverage.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your insurance information, ID, and any previous dental records if available. For little ones, you’re welcome to bring their favorite toy or blanket to help them feel comfortable.
I have dental anxiety. Can you help?
Yes. We understand that many adults have had negative dental experiences in the past. Our team is gentle, non-judgmental, and trained to help you feel safe and relaxed during your visit.

Pediatric Dental Care

When should my child have their first dental visit?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends the first visit by age one or within 6 months of the first tooth appearing. Starting early helps kids feel comfortable and builds good oral habits.
How often should my child see the dentist?
We recommend a checkup every 6 months to monitor development, catch problems early, and keep teeth clean and healthy.
What if my child is nervous or afraid of the dentist?
We specialize in helping anxious or fearful children feel at ease. Our kid-friendly environment, gentle approach, and positive reinforcement make all the difference.
Do you offer sedation for children?
Yes. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation for children who need extra help staying relaxed during treatment.
What services do you provide for kids?
We offer preventive care (cleanings, sealants, fluoride), fillings, crowns, extractions, space maintainers, and more — all tailored to kids’ unique needs.

Orthodontics & Braces

Do you offer braces for all ages?
Yes! We provide braces for kids, teens, and adults. Whether your child needs early orthodontic care or you’re looking to improve your own smile, we can help.
When should my child be evaluated for braces?
We recommend an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Even if braces aren’t needed right away, early monitoring helps guide future treatment.
Can adults get braces at your practice?
Absolutely. We offer orthodontic care for adults, including traditional and clear braces. It’s never too late to care for your smile.
What types of braces do you offer?
We offer traditional metal braces and clear braces, depending on your child’s needs and preferences.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Treatment typically lasts 12-24 months, but this varies based on the complexity of the case and your child’s growth and compliance.

What insurances do you accept?

We accept Medi-Cal/Denti-Cal, and we work with many PPO plans. Please contact us for help verifying your coverage.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer flexible payment options, like CareCredit, to help families manage the cost of care. Our team can help find the solution that works best for your budget.

Our patients are the sweetest

Dr. Elham Nik is so kind and patient! Bless their heart because my middle one is terrified of the dentist and can be difficult to treat. I highly recommend this dental office for toddlers and young children.

Sweet Tooth Pediatric has been amazing! Dr. Nik and her staff are so great with the kids! Appointments are on time and efficient. I would absolutely recommend them to everyone!

— Brittney H.

I had a dental emergency a few days ago and I went to Sweet Tooth in Lompoc and I can confidently say that I found my dentist! They are a pediatric office that also works with adults, which I think makes them very patient and understanding with patients regardless of age!
